Local law enforcement updated the Sheridan City Council this week on a Memorandum of Understanding between the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheridan Police Department. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Sheridan Police Chief Rich Adriaens and Sheridan County Sheriff Allen Thompson presented the Council with a brief overview of the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Memorandum of Understanding between both law enforcement agencies. Adriaens described why the MOU is needed.

Adriaens said that the MOU also helps with follow up investigations.

Sheriff Thompson said that the MOU provides for more efficiency between both law enforcement agencies.

No action by the Council was required, as the presentation was simply an overview of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two entities.
