Lauren Fish-Ashcraft Recipient of First Advocacy In Action Award

This month is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Advocacy Resource & Center (ARC) has been hosting a variety of events to spread awareness. Thursday evening, the ARC presented the Advocacy in Action Award to Lauren Fish-Ashcraft in honor of all she has done to help those in crisis. Fish-Ashcraft talks about why awareness is so important.

More than 12 million men and women over the course of a year are subjected to rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner according to The National Domestic Violence Hotline. Fish-Ashcraft has helped raise funds for the ARC, she has helped start a conversation about abuse, and she has helped create a voice for those who can't speak for themselves. Fish-Ashcraft shares one of her goals for next years fundraising.
