The Sheridan Community Land Trust announced Thursday that they've been awarded a couple of grants from Wyoming's Recreational Trails Program. Land Trust Executive Director Colin Betzler.

Betzler said that the majority of of the funding will be used for the 4.4 mile Soldier Ridge Trail, which will be a single-track, non-motorized trail west of Sheridan. He indicated that the remainder of the funds will go towards the Sheridan County recreational map. The Soldier Ridge Trail is part of a conservation easement project that closed on March 9th of this year.

Betzler stated that they are looking forward to what grants they might be applying for in the coming year as they expand their focus in the recreation area for Sheridan County.
