The Buffalo Lions Club Lake DeSmet Fishing Derby will be happening this Memorial Day Weekend at the lake 8 miles north of Buffalo, and will kick off Saturday morning, continuing through Memorial Day.

Over $50,000 in cash and prizes are available to win during the three-day event.

Tagged fish worth $100 up to $3,000 each have been released into the lake for the derby, and there will be daily prizes, daily drawings, overall prizes and a grand prize of a 2019 Kymco 4x4 will be given away.

The concession stand at the Lion’s Club Pavilion at the Mikesell Potts Recreation Area is the headquarters for the derby and where the fish are officially weighed in and measured.
Proceeds from the event help fund a variety of Lion’s Club projects.

The derby kicks off Saturday, continues Sunday, and wraps up on Monday.

A valid Wyoming Fishing License is required to fish at the derby.

Tickets for the derby must be purchased to qualify for the prizes, and are available at many area retalers.
