Full-contact jousting, games and more will be happening at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds this weekend as the Knights of Mayhem return for another Tournament of Knights Saturday night.

Kristen Marcus, who's executive director of CHAPS equine-assisted therapy, said the event is a fund-raiser for CHAPS, and it's also the opening event for this year's Sheridan County Fair.

In addition to the jousting and other events on the field, the Knights will also judge this year's costume contest.

Marcus said the jousting starts at 7 p.m., but the gates will open at 4 p.m. for other games and events including bounce houses, face-painting and food. Marcus said the organizers are hoping to have a dunk tank.

This is the third year for CHAPS to have a jousting tournament, and the second year for the Knights of Mayhem. Marcus said the group appears to be popular, drawing ticket sales not only from Sheridan and elsewhere in Wyoming but from Minnesota, Colorado, Montana and South Dakota.

She said the captain of the group is from Utah, and other knights come from Canada, Ohio and Oregon.
