Dixie Johnson, who's the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce CEO, has been named Chamber Director of the Year by the Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce.

Johnson was selected, based on her leadership and her dedication to the community, during the Wyoming Working Together Conference earlier this month in Gillette.

Johnson said she was very honored by the award.

She said the Gillette meeting was an annual professional development conference for several organizations.

Johnson was nominated for the award by Laura Lehan of Peak Consulting, who said Johnson works tirelessly to meet the needs of Chamber members. Lehan said Johnson is one of those leaders who continually looks for ways to improve the organization.

Johnson has been Chamber CEO since January 2011 and has been a member of the Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce board since 2012.

She also serves on the Tongue River Valley Community Center board and the Sheridan-Johnson Counties Critical Air Service Team.
