Johnson To Make Appearance On Multiple Charges Today

Michael Johnson was scheduled to make his initial appearance in Johnson County Circuit Court Monday on multiple counts of sexual abuse, drug and child pornography charges, but waived his initial appearance and will now wait for scheduling for his arraignment in District Court.

Michael Johnson, a former employee at a Buffalo newspaper, will make his initial appearance in Johnson County Circuit Court today on multiple counts of sexual abuse, drug and child pornography charges.

Johnson was originally charged and made an initial appearance on sexual abuse and drug charges, but those were dismissed so additional charges could be filed against him.

The new charges, filed late last month, include 12 separate counts, including one count of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, a misdemeanor; one count of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana with intent to deliver, a felony; two counts of being at least 17 years of age and taking immodest, immoral or indecent liberties with victim who is less than 17 years of age and at least four years younger than the actor; seven separate counts of manufacturing, generating, receiving, distributing, or reproducing child pornography; and one count of felony possession of child pornography.

Johnson is expected at his preliminary hearing which has been scheduled for today at 11am in Johnson County Circuit Court.
