Johnson County Sets 1% Allocation, Discusses County Requests

Johnson County's Commissioners set their allocation they will give the One-Percent Committee to distribute to outside agencies at $225,000 which is at the 25% threshold of their $900,000 total allocation.

The remaining $675,000 will be allocated for the internal county requests, with some set in reserves, according to discussions at the commissioners' meeting this week.

Both the City of Buffalo and Johnson County have set their outside allocation at 25% of the total, keeping 75% of their annual allocation for internal needs.

The commissioners discussed the requests and tentatively set the individual awards for each, which they will discuss further and are expected to adopt at their next meeting on the 19th.

Requests this year include vehicles for the sheriff's department and road and bridge department, equipment for the recycling center, and operational and other funding for the Bomber Mountain Civic Center, to name a few.
