Johnson County School District One Superintendent Dr. Gerry Chase has resigned and the district board will now begin the process to find a replacement.

Dr. Chase resigned at a special meeting called by the board Tuesday night, where after the meeting was opened, the board entered into an executive session.
After just over and hour, the board came out of executive session, reconvened the meeting and unanimously voted to accept Dr. Chase's resignation.

The board also voted to authorize chairman Rich Hall to look into interim options for the position while the board conducts a search for a permanent replacement superintendent.

Trustees Dave Belus and Steve Reimann thanked Dr. Chase for his service to the district and Chairman Hall echoed those thoughts and also thanked him for his work benefiting the kids in Johnson County.

Dr. Chase thanked the board for the opportunity given him by the district.

After the meeting was adjourned, Chairman Hall explained what the next step in the process will be.

Chairman Hall said the board will move on finding an interim and permanent solution as quickly as possible.

The board will have their regularly scheduled meeting for June on Monday, June 11th at 7 that evening at the district administration office.
