At their meeting Tuesday morning, the Johnson County Commissioners accepted the bid for a new filing system at the new Judicial Center.

Shelf Image Inc. had submitted a bid of $37,654.19 for three new high-density filing systems to be installed at the judicial center, and to remove, disassemble and re-use the existing identical filing system at the county courthouse. They will also move all current files from the courthouse to the judicial center.

Clerk of Court Thelma Axberg explains more about the filing system.

The bid from Shelf Image was significantly less than the other bid received and the amount budgeted for the filing system in the project and will save the county money, according to discussions at the meeting.

The offices at the new judicial center are expected to be habitable in late August or early September and the move from the courthouse to the judicial center is tentatively scheduled to happen around that time.
