Johnson County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly, in a recent update to the county commissioners, discussed the county's emergency operation center and how it compares to others she visited.

Connolly also told the commissioners that the Homeland Security Grant for 2017 and the Emergency Management Performance Grant for 2017 will both be awarded in the early part of July.
She isn't sure about the amount the county will receive from on Homeland Security Grant, but was confident the county would be awarded the amount she requested for the EMPG Grant, which she thought to be at or near $40,000.

Commission Chairman Bill Novotny asked Connolly if she had received any reports of damage due to high water and flooding during peak runoff earlier last month.

Although some damage was done to some head gates on a few irrigation ditches on Clear Creek, Connolly said she heard no other reports of damage.
There could be damage out there, but no damage was reported to her from anywhere else in the county.
