Johnson County Commission OKs Application for 2021 CMAQ Funds

Johnson County Road and Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer brought an application for Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) funding before the county commission for approval at their recent meeting.

The funding, according to Pehringer, will be used to purchase and administer about 1,200 tons of calcium chloride for dust mitigation on just over 100 miles of roads in the county that will be used in 2021.

The amount of federal funding the county will be asking for is about $428,000 with a local match from the county of $107,000 for a total project amount of $536,000 for dust control on the county roads affected by industrial use.

The federal funding comes through the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

The commission approved the application for CMAQ funding.
