Johnson County Approves VOA Contracts For 2018-19

Johnson County's Commissioners have approved contracts with Volunteers of America (VOA) to provide probation and drug court services to the county.

The first contract amount is for roughly $32,500 in which VOA will provide court-supervised drug treatment services for the county.

The second contract, for 25 days at $100 a day to total $2,500 for 48-hour hold services for juveniles at facilities in Gillette and/or Casper, with the amount of bed-days reduced by 10 from the previous year.

The third contract is for VOA to provide juvenile probation and diversion program services for just under $28,000.

Scott Duncan, with VOA explained more about the probation and diversion program to the commissioners at their recent meeting.

The commissioners approved the contracts for the coming fiscal year, which will be in effect from July 1st, 2018 through June 30th, 2019.
