Johnson County Approves Additional Funds For Drug Court

At their meeting last week, the Johnson County Commissiners approved a request from the Community Resource Center of Johnson County (CRC) on behalf of the Johnson County Court's Supervised Drug Treatment Program for additional funds for FY 2012.

Toni Cervenka, with the CRC, made the request of the commission, saying the additional money is needed because there have been more people that have utilized the treatment program than originally budgeted for, and that has created a funding shortfall in the program.

The state and Federal governments award grants to local agencies for the programs based partially on participation, and this year there were more participants in the voluntary program than in recent years.

Cervenka and the commission discussed the request at the meeting.

The commissioners approved an additional $16,000 for the end of FY 2012.
