Ranchester Council Adopts Safe Routes To School Master Plan

The Safe Routes to School Program has enabled the town of Ranchester to build sidewalks that make it much safer for children to get to and from school. Tuesday night the Town Council approved the Safe Routes to School Master Plan. Ranchester Mayor Cliff Clevenger.

Holiday Open House At The Trail End Historic Site Begins This Friday

Three days of seasonal cheer will begin this Friday at the Trail End Historic Site in Sheridan as there will be a holiday open house Friday through Sunday. Trail End Site Superintendent Cynde Georgen says there will be plenty of sounds of the holidays during the open house.

City Of Sheridan Releases Names Of Some Candidates For Police Chief

The City of Sheridan released some of the names of the six remaining candidates for Sheridan Police Chief. All six finalists were asked to submit a biography for public review.

Daniel Busken began his law enforcement career in University City, Missouri in 1983. He was most recently Chief of Police in Madison, Alabama, where he has been for 9 years.

City Will Announce Names Of Police Chief Candidates

The City Council met in special session on Tuesday night to request that candidates for the city police chief position write biographies to be publicly released. Mayor Dave Kinskey said that all remaining candidates will be in Sheridan this week.

Drumm Has Mixed Feelings About Leaving Sheridan College

Sheridan College President Dr. Kevin Drumm announced Tuesday that he would be leaving the Northern Wyoming Community College District to become the president of Broome College in New York. Earlier this year Drumm was considered for two other executive positions. Drumm says leaving was one of the hardest decisions he ever had to make.

Man Charged With Child Abuse Has Preliminary Hearing

A Sheridan man was bound over to 4th Judicial District Court after a preliminary hearing in Sheridan County Circuit Court on Tuesday afternoon. 35-year-old Rockie King is accused of aggravated assault and battery as well as child abuse.

Courthouse To Get Another Face Lift Over The Next Several Months

The Sheridan County Courthouse will have more construction going on inside the building in the next several months. Sheridan County Commissioners met Tuesday morning and awarded the bid for remodeling of the 3rd and 4th floors of the courthouse addition to O’dell construction. The project is expected to cost nearly a million dollars.

Commissioners Consider Subdivision Resolution Amendment

The Sheridan County commissioners tabled action on an amendment to the county zoning resolution that places additional restrictions on development in areas susceptible to ground water contamination. County Commissioner Mike Nickel explains the action.
