A proposal from representatives with Joey’s Fly Fishing Foundation to utilize property owned by SEEDA and the City of Sheridan as an educational science center was a topic of discussion at Monday night’s City Council study session.

Joey Puettman, Founder and Executive Director of Joey's Fly Fishing Foundation says that the science center is still in the early stages of design and development.

One of those strategic partners that Puettman referred to is Tina Krueger, owner of Steady Stream Hydrology in Sheridan. Krueger says that the property where they are envisioning the science center is located on Decker Road in north Sheridan, and would be an ideal location to mentor youth of all ages in the region through the art of fly fishing.

We’ll have more on the science center proposal for you in a future story, including the size of the facility that’s being proposed and just how much it would cost to make the idea a reality.
