Joey’s Fall Fly Fundraiser Coming This Saturday

From 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 17 Joey’s Fly Fishing Foundation will host its fourth annual Fall Fly fishing tournament fundraiser. This event is intended for fishers of any skill level who are 12 to 18 years of age and will take place at the north fork of the Tongue River past Bear Lodge on 14A.

Anglers from Colorado, Montana, and Sheridan county who are part of volunteer organizations supporting the Foundation will be at this event mentoring participants. Fishermen will be divided into several teams and each is allowed to fly fish a quarter mile of the creek. Following the tournament there will be a meal and an awards ceremony.

Director of Joey’s Fly Fishing Foundation Joey Putnam claims that the event’s focus is particularly geared towards learning new things and meeting new people.

On the evening of Friday the 16 the foundation will host a dinner with a silent auction and live music from the Craft Brothers at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Expo Hall. Registration for the Fall Fly will be available at this dinner for $35 or at Joey’s Fly Fishing Foundation at 109 South Main Street.
