Starting this week and continuing through March, the Johnson County Library will have fun events to welcome the public, starting with a kids' Fun at the Library Day this Friday.

The day was set aside for the kids to give them something to do because schools in Johnson County will be out that day.

The library will have a paper airplane contest from 10am to 11:30. Materials will be provided and books and templates to choose from will also be provided. Prizes will be awarded for the longest flight and other categories.

Library Director Cynthia Twing talks about the Fun at the Library Day.

Then later that day, the Library will show movies and have popcorn for the kids all afternoon beginning at 1:30pm. For more information, contact the library.

Also, there is a Lego building contest at the Library. Pick up a sign-up sheet with rules and other information at the library now and get started building your best masterpiece. The contest is open to kids in Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

Drop off your creations from March 9-13, and the designs will be on display March 14-18 with awards given at a party hosted by the library on March 18.
