The Johnson County Commissioners, at their meeting Monday, signed over the water line that supplies the fairgrounds to the City of Buffalo.

County Attorney Ken DeCock and City Attorney Ben Kirven had negotiated the agreement between the two entities and the accompanying easement agreements with landowners on Fairgrounds Road where the water line was laid.

DeCock explained the agreement to the commissioners.

In addition to the water line agreement, the county signed over the easements for the line across four different parcels of land along Fairgrounds Road.

Easement agreements were reached with Tim Carpenter, Debbie Cotter, Gary Duncan and Linda Beckham, and were transferred to the city.

The City of Buffalo had been seeking ownership of the line, but could not take possession of it until the easements and all paperwork were in order.
