Jo Co Planner: Airport Regs Need Looked At

Johnson County Commission
Johnson County Commission

Johnson County Planner Rob Yingling brought an issue with the airport to the attention of the county commissioners last week.
Yingling told them that Airport Zoning Regulations need to be looked at and either adopted or changed, based on what he found.
Yingling explains what he found.
Yingling said he was looking at the Airport Master Plan to find the information when he realized it had not yet been adopted.
The commission suggested taking the problem to the Airport Board for them to help in setting height restrictions, buffer zones for runways, buildings, towers and other structures.
Yingling said he would contact the Airport Board for help, and the issue is expected to be discussed at the next Airport Board Meeting Monday, July 18.
