The Johnson County Commissioners, at their meeting last week, agreed to extend the service agreement contract with the University of Wyoming for an employee at the local extension office.

Under the agreement, the county will pay $5,233.50 toward the salary for Rachel Vardiman, which is the portion of her yearly salary the county is responsible for. The University pays the remainder under the agreement.
The county pays mileage and other expenses as well as the percentage of the salary for the position. Vardiman is the 4H/Youth Development Services Director for Johnson County.

County attorney Ken DeCock had some minor concerns with the contract. The county will ask the State for more details and clarification on the position and the county's rights and responsibilities for next year's contract. The approved contract will be in effect from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.
