Jo Co to Award Contract for Recycling Building Tuesday

The contract to build the new Buffalo/Johnson County Recycling Center will be awarded by the Johnson County Commission at their regular meeting Tuesday.

Commission chair Smokey Wildeman tells us more about the bids for the new recycling center.

The bids were not just for the building, but for work on the land itself and amenities to the building and property as well, Wildeman said.

The bid award will be at 1:45pm.

Also on the agenda for Tuesday:

The Commission will review rules and regulations to the Mikesell/Potts Recreation Area at Lake DeSmet.

Buffalo Police Chief Mike Chapman and Sheriff Steve Kozisek are expected to present a final cost estimate on the new radio consoles and computers for the new justice center.

Kaycee Mayor Tom Knapp is scheduled to address the Commission concerning issues involving the town beginning at 1:15 pm.

The Commission will sign the new bylaws agreement for the Joint Powers Board.

The meeting of the Johnson County Commission meeting will begin at 9 am in the Commission Chambers upstairs at the Johnson County Courthouse.
