JCSD1 Adopts $19.9 Million Budget For 2012-2013

Johnson County School District One's Board of Trustees, at their meeting last week, approved the budget for FY2012-2013, a $19,975,000 General Fund Budget, which is an increase over last year's budget of $305,000 due in large part to increases in salary and benefits, according to figures released by the district.

The final budget adopted for the previous year, 2011-2012, was also amended to $19,800,000 at the meeting.

Reserve funds for the district going into 2012-2013 are estimated at $3,520,250 as per the district's figures.

The county's assessed valuation, according to the County Assessor, decreased to $1,095,175,554 which is $195 million less than last year's valuation, and Johnson County will still be considered a recapture district, meaning the district takes in more tax revenue than allowed in the Wyoming Funding Model and must return all revenue above that allowed to the state. It is estimated that JCSD1's recapture payment will be $15.8 million, down from last year's payment of $22.49 million.
