The Johnson County Healthcare Center in Buffalo continues to struggle to finding Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), which is one of the reasons CEO/Administrator Nicole Hobbs is concerned with a proposed veteran's skilled nursing facility in Buffalo.

The lack of CNAs has been an issue with the facility for awhile, and nationwide as well, she said.
They are currently looking to fill five CNA positions, and she explained further.

Hobbs also said the healthcare center is doing “a little better” financially than it has recently, ending the year positively with a net gain in July, which they haven't had in years.

She said she is just waiting to see how things go, as patient volume and staffing, among other things, are key drivers for the facility.
Any minor change can have a huge impact on them.
