The Johnson County Healthcare Center has been looking at converting hospital records from paper to electronic, and this coming year was earmarked for the decision to move forward, with the board budgeting money for the implementation of the program in 2013.

At their last meeting, the Board of Trustess was presented with a quote from their software vendor, CPSI, for the implementation of the E.H.R. Program.

Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward said their quote was for $575,000 which will not include expenses for travel for their implementation staff. Ward said he would add a $50,000 contingency fund to that figure, to bring the total estimate for the project to $625,000.

The board had budgeted $600,000 in this year's budget for the project.

Ward said the plan is to move forward with and begin the project in the first quarter of 2013.
