JCHC Department Heads Report Busy Facility, Full Staff

The Hospital Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center received positive news from Chief of Staff Dr. Blaine Ruby during their recent meeting.

Dr. Ruby said he saw no major problems in the facility, the clinic is fully staffed, and volume has been relatively good.

Mary Litzel, director of nursing at the center, said all is going well in the hospital and they have stayed busy.

Clinic Manager Crystal Smith said things are going well in the clinic and reported a busy month in October where nearly 1,900 patients were seen.
She said the clinic had recently completed their first Tele-Med visit with a patient seeing a specialist at the Billings Clinic via the internet, instead of driving to Billings. The clinic will be doing more of these in the future.

Shanda Rodriguez, Director of Hospice and Home Care, said there were six Medicare Home Health patients, seven VA, five private pay, 11 Medicaid or waiver patients, and there are currently three Hospice patients. There were three deaths and one live discharge for Hospice in October.

She also reported that the biennial Hospice Variety Show will be coming up in January.

The Hospice Variety Show will be performed at the Buffalo High School Auditorium Saturday, January 19th and again Sunday, January 20th.
