JCHC Board Reviews Insurance Coverage

The Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center reviewed their liability insurance coverage in preparation of renewing the policies in July.

Trevor Moon, with North Wyoming Insurance, gave an overview of the current policy and said the premium on the policy would have a substantial jump in price in the coming year, if the healthcare center should stay with the existing insurance carrier.

He explains the policies that are being reviewed.

There were discussions involving the increase in claims coverage on a per incident basis, and increasing the overall annual claim limits, which will be looked into by Moon.

The increase in premiums, if the policy is renewed with the current policy holder, will jump from roughly $135,000 last year, to about $152,000 in the next fiscal year.

Moon will continue to search for a better rate through a different company and also loom at increasing the claim limits and bring the information back to the board, who is expected to make a decision at their next meeting later this month.
