The outlook financially for the Johnson County Healthcare Center for the fiscal year is positive so far, but Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward catiouned the board that many issues could still contribute to the bottom line through the rest of the year.
Ward told the board that the healthcare center saw $1.3 million in gross revenues in January and that so far this year the facility has shown roughly a $2 million profit.
Profit and loss projections so far this year are about $200,000 ahead of forecasts.
Medicare recently changed how billing paperwork is processed, he said, but is behind in their processing of claims, causing the healthcare center to be owed over $1 million so far and the figure will go up before medicare gets their new billing system up and running in April.
Patient visits to the hospital and clinic are slightly down from the same time last year, according to Ward.
