JCHC Board Gets Positive Financial Report For September

At their last meeting the Johnson County Healthcare Center Board of Trustees received a mostly positive financial report from Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward.

Ward said September was a good month for gross revenue, although revenue is down slightly over the projected budget for FY 2013.

Revenue is down slightly in the hospital, but up in the nursing home, and it has been a “reasonably good start in volume” so far this year.

Collections, he said, continue to go well, with over $1.2 million collected overall in September.

Ward also went over the projected budget for the year, which is so far close to where he thought it would be. Revenues and expenditures are close to projections but he cautioned expenditures would fluctuate from month to month as things like medications were purchased as needed.

He told the board “it's too early to draw any conclusions or make any judgement on trends.”

The Healthcare Center received $3,553 in donations and memorials last month, with most donated to the Hospice Program.
