An ordinance that would prohibit the use of engine compression brakes in the City of Sheridan continues to move forward. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

The Sheridan City Council this week approved second reading of ordinance #2192, prohibiting the use of engine compression brakes, or “Jake brakes,” as they are more commonly known, in Sheridan city limits. City Public Works Director Lane Thompson talks about why staff crafted the ordinance.

Third and final reading of the ordinance is expected to be considered by the Council at their August 20 meeting.
