Jackson Man Sentenced For Entering Wrong Home

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - A Jackson man who says he was intoxicated when he entered the wrong home and wrestled with the owner has been sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation.
Twenty-two-year-old Douglas Currie was originally charged with felony burglary but pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal entry for going into the home on Feb. 7.
He also pleaded guilty Thursday in 9th Circuit District Court to possession of a gram of marijuana that was found in clothing pulled from him by the home's owner during the struggle. Currie was also ordered to pay $760 in court fees and get outpatient substance abuse counseling.
Homeowner James Walton says he and his wife have started locking the doors day and night and now sleep with a loaded gun, a knife,and bear spray nearby.
