The indoor baseball facility at Thorne-Rider Park in Sheridan is starting to take shape. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the story.

During Wednesday's Sheridan Recreation District board meeting, Rec. Director Richard Wright gave an update on the indoor baseball/storage facility that is located on the west side of the big parking lot across from Thorne-Rider stadium.

The building has been a project of the Sheridan Athletics Association, as over $100,000 has been raised. Wright says that the facility, once complete will be a big benefit to their baseball program as well as the American Legion's.

The sixty by one-hundred foot building still needs a floor, as Wright said that concrete will be poured as soon as the ground can be thawed out. He also reported during the meeting that the Sheridan County Tennis Association continues to work on raising funds to cover two of the tennis courts at Thorne-Rider.

Wright added that the Tennis Association is currently reviewing two proposals to cover the courts, with both coming in around the $300,000 figure.
