Buffalo will host the 2016 season-opening event for the Professional Indian Horse Racing Association (PIHRA) this weekend, June 11th and 12th at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

The PIHRA, Buffalo Chamber of Commerce and the Johnson County Fair Board are hosting the two-day “Buffalo Days Indian Relay” co-sponsored by Shipton's Big “R” and the Crow Nation.

The Buffalo Days Indian Relay will be the opening PIHRA-sanctioned event of the year, with up to 20 adult relay teams expected to compete.
It is the opening of the race season, with 15 to 20 other events scheduled throughout the summer where PIHRA member teams can accumulate points and strive for an invitation to the All Nations Indian Relay Championship finals in Billings, Montana September 22nd through the 25th.
Teams there will compete for an estimated $100,000 in cash and prizes, and the team points leader will be awarded $10,000 during the championship.

Tickets for this weekend's Buffalo relay are all General Admission and are $20 per day for adults or $30 for both days. Kids under 12 are $12.50 per day or $20 for two days. Box seats are $30 per day or $50 for both days.

Tickets are available in Buffalo at the Chamber of Commerce, Sagewood Gifts and Cafe and Sports Lure.
In Sheridan tickets are available at Shiptons Bug “R.”
In Kaycee they are available at the Invasion Bar and at the Sinclair Deli/Store/Motel.
