For those lower income members of our community needing tax help, VITA, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance is available at Sheridan College. Students who are certified through the IRS work as volunteers preparing the tax returns. Casey Shinkle is one of those students and explains the process.

Tracy Dearinger oversees the program and says the students learn more than just how to do taxes.

This is the 6th year of the VITA program at Sheridan College and the students process over 175 tax returns each year.
