How to Eat Healthy When Dining Out

Eating healthy and maintaining a balanced diet is one of the key ingredients to living a healthy life. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Dining out can present its fair share of challenges for those that are following a diet plan, or those that keep a mindful eye on what they put into their bodies. Local Health Coach and Fitness Nutrition Specialist Dr. Erin Nitschke says there are a number of factors that are out of your control when dining out.

Nitschke said that if having breakfast items, you can request a two instead of a four egg omelet, and to try and limit, if you can, the amount of cheese you have on your omelet. For dinner, she said people need to remember that they don’t have to eat all of the food that’s on their plate.

Another good piece of advice for eating out said Nitschke, is to try and limit the amount of dressing you put on your salad and to not bury the greens in meat products that are typically high in fat and sodium.
