Hospital to Possibly Add Medical Office Space Building

The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees gave their approval to move forward with a Request for Proposal on a building that would provide medical office space. The facility would help accommodate the growth of Big Horn Mountain Medicine, which is the hospital's Internal Medicine practice. Hospital CEO Mike McCafferty explains what they're envisioning.

The early cost projections for the building are in the neighborhood of $6.5 million. McCafferty also updated the Board on where they are at in regards to expansion of the Welch Cancer Center. He stated that current meetings with staff and the design team have the building at 19 thousand square feet, with the end goal being a 15 thousand square foot building.

The Board also approved the Gainshare payout from last fiscal year that will go to the over 500 employees at the hospital.

The Gainshare that will be divided up between the employees is in the amount of $1.3 million.
