Hospital Looking at Employee Engagement

Employees who are engaged are employees who are satisfied, and that results in a better experience for patients at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

That's the philosophy driving a decision by the hospital's leaders to have a survey done of employee engagement. Nyle Morgan, who's the hospital's chief operating officer, said the hospital worked with Gallup to provide the survey.

Morgan said the survey is expected to provide a baseline, and from there, the hospital will measure employee engagement again in the spring, probably in April or May.

He said employees who are engaged feel that their work is valuable and worthwhile, and their employer cares about them.

He said the thinking is that the employees will enjoy what they do and those positive feelings will be passed on to the patients.
