The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation hosted breakfast for more than 400 hospital employees in the hospital cafeteria Thursday.

Meredith Sopko, who's marketing coordinator, said the event is to celebrate the foundation's employee partners, the more than 400 hospital employees who donate to the foundation through payroll deductions every two weeks.

Partners who attend the breakfast also can vote on the hospital project that the money they've donated will be used on. This year's choice was to help fund new MRI equipment.

In past years, employees have chosen to fund projects such as expansion and renovation of the Intensive Care Unit, 3D mammography and hospice.

Sopko said the foundation has been providing the free breakfast since 2003 when the employee partners program started. She said the program started with just a few partners and has grown every year.
