The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees approved a little over $743,000 in capital equipment expenditures Wednesday. The capital equipment ranged in everything from back surgery equipment to items that will complete the renovation and remodel of OR1, which is the 4th Operating Room. Hospital Chief Financial Officer Ed Johlman explains that all of the requests were items that were needed immediately.

The most expensive purchase was $296,000 for the refurbished nuclear medicine machine. It was stated that the hospital will save anywhere from 30-40% by purchasing the refurbished model, and that the current machine is in dire need of replacement as it has started to malfunction and has become unpredictable.
