Hospital Board Approves Architect for Possible Project

Several months ago the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees authorized the hospital to move forward with a request for proposal from architects regarding the design of a medical office space facility on the campus of the Hospital.

After receiving six proposals, the Hospital's Building Committee narrowed the number down to three, and eventually down to one. That recommendation was brought before the Board Wednesday at their monthly meeting. Hospital Facilities Services Manager Rob Forister explains the decision that was made by the Board.

So why the need for more medical office space?

The facility would most likely be located on the east side of the campus near the Medical Arts Complex. The total cost of the project is estimated at $7.5 million. If the project is feasible, Forister said that the next step would be for the Board to approve TSP to do the design build construction documents that would allow for the facility to be built.
