Home brewers will have the opportunity to compete for prizes and bragging rights this weekend at Buffalo's annual Oktoberfest celebration.

Crazy Woman Square downtown will be the venue for the event, which will begin at noon and continue until 6 in the afternoon this Saturday.

Authentic German food, crafts and other vendors will be present, and there will be face painting and inflatables for the kids, and entertainment will be provided by Maxima's Overdrive and the Bomber Mountain Roller Derby Girls.

Acting Chamber Director Jennifer McCormick said Oktoberfest has grown into one of Buffalo's favorite annual events.

The public can sample the home brews and vote for their favorites, and they will be sampled and graded by “professional” judges as well.
Styles this year include Pilsner, Stout, Porter, IPA, Amber, Lager, Wheat, and Pale Ale.
