Holiday Open House Marks End Of Season For State Historic Site

The Annual Holiday open house at the Trail End State Historic Site was one of several holiday events that took place over the weekend. For three days visitors get a chance to see the Kendrick Mansion the way it may have looked around Christmas time nearly 100 years ago. Site Curator Sharie Prout says it took over 20 volunteers to get three floors of Christmas decorations put up.

Visitors were treated to hot cider and figgy pudding, as well as performances by nine different musical groups over the three days. The open house also marks the end of the season for the museum.

The Trail End State Historic Site will close for the year starting December 15th. Exhibits will be changed over the next several months and the mansion will open to visitors again on April 1st.
