Harold Jarrard Park, Fairgrounds Contract Changes Coming

Harold Jarrard Park, Fairgrounds Contract Changes Coming

A contract renewal between Johnson County, the Town of Kaycee, and Harold Jarrard Park will have some changes coming for the county commission to approve at their next meeting.

According to Civil Deputy County Attorney Barry Crago, some proposed changes to the contract were discussed with him, and he outlined the recommended changes to the county commission.

Crago said in most cases the organizations renting the facilities want to work the arenas themselves, and this solution would mean the facilities are covered for liability and would also save money by not requiring the county of Town of Kaycee to pay employees to be available for working the arenas during rodeo-type events.

The county wants to draft an agreement that could be used by the Harold Jarrard Park and the Johnson County Fairgrounds Arena that will cover both during the events.

Crago will draft the agreement and bring it before the commission at their next meeting March 19th for consideration.
