Grant Awarded To Create Database For The Eastern Shosone Language

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $200,000 grant to help create a database of the Eastern Shoshone language. University of Wyoming American Indian Studies Program Director, Judy Antell, says the database will be the basis for the future development of additional Eastern Shoshone language and teaching materials.

The Eastern Shoshone Tribe will preserve one copy of the finished database and the UW American Heritage Center will preserve another.
