Gordon Makes Statement on NEPA Regulations

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon released a statement regarding President Donald Trump’s announcement Thursday that he is seeking to modernize the National Environmental Policy Act regulations. Governor Gordon started out by saying he supports the President’s leadership to direct the Council on Environmental Quality’s reform of NEPA. He continued that the act is an important policy tool that ensures proper consideration of the environmental effects of proposed major federal actions.

Gordon said that it is not a platform to engage in speculation and it is not a convenient mechanism to obstruct development. The Governor pointed out that Wyoming is proud of our environment and protective of our natural resources. He finished his statement by acknowledging that states and cooperating agencies are essential partners and that Wyoming stands ready to help.
