Gordon Announces Energy Platform to Power Wyoming Forward

Wyoming Treasurer Mark Gordon, who's running for governor, has released a series of policy positions that he says are aimed at expanding export markets for Wyoming’s natural resources, localizing decision-making, streamlining regulations and driving innovation.

Gordon released his Power WYO Forward platform Tuesday. The platform includes policy and regulatory proposals to foster and grow the state’s energy sector. Gordon's policy positions include building infrastructure to export Wyoming resources, driving advanced energy technologies, streamlining regulations, localizing decision-making and streamlining and aligning state energy resources.

Gordon said energy and natural resources will continue to play an important role in Wyoming's economy for years to come.

He said the opportunity before Wyoming as a state is to position Wyoming in such a way as to capture more of the value chain than just the raw materials relied on in the past.

Gordon said diversifying Wyoming's economy and maintaining and advancing the state's core mineral industries are not mutually exclusive but, in fact, go hand-in-hand. He said Wyoming will continue to be an energy state for years to come, so it's our responsibility to not only be a part of the future of the energy sector but to drive it.
