State Treasurer Mark Gordon of Buffalo officially announced his candidacy for Governor of the State of Wyoming at a gathering in Buffalo Wednesday night.

Although there had been speculation he had decided to run for the top office in the state, it became official Wednesday during the first of several stops throughout the state to kick off his campaign.

Gordon said during a brief speech that he has brought his conservative values to the treasurer's office and that he would like to continue steering the state as governor.

Gordon gave some of the vision he has for the governor's office and the state, but said he wanted to hear from Wyoming's citizens for their ideas as well.

We will have more on the specifics on his vision for the future of the state in upcoming stories.
