A black light party at Zumba Saturday.

It was the first of its kind, at least for Sheridan.  Saturday afternoon was the first ever Zumba Black Light Glow-in-the Dark Master Class and over 50 Zumba enthusiasts went to Scotty’s Skate Castle to join in the two hour-long party.

And what is Zumba?  Instructor Lorrie Anderson explains.

Easy to learn, Zumba combines aerobics with dance that keeps the routine fun.

Forty-nine women and one lonely gentleman from Worland, Billings, and Sheridan participated in the class.  Anderson has taught Zumba for the past three years and says it’s all about getting fit
while having fun.

Zumba was created by Alberto Perez of Columbia.  A fitness instructor, one day he had forgotten to bring his aerobics music to class and had to improvise.  Drawing from his personal collection of music which included salsa and merengue, it gave his class a Latin flavor and a new exercise craze was born.
