Girl Scouts Taking on The Silver Award

Girl Scouts Taking on The Silver Award

Last Saturday, Girl Scouts Alora Fields and Marley Graham, hosted the Kitten Shower. This was one of many fundraisers these girls have helped put on. Fields and Graham are making their way towards the Silver Award. This is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn. Misty Fields, Alora’s mom, talks about the prestigious award.

The Silver Award is a symbol of leadership, initiative, and presence in the community. Part of being a Girl Scout is finding creative ways to make a positive difference in the community. The Gold Award is the next step for these young ladies and it is earned by senior Girls Scouts. It’s the highest achievement in the Girl Scouts organization. Graham and her mom, Marisa, tell us their favorite part about being in the Girl Scout organization.

The Girl Scout motto is, “To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.” The organization welcomes girls from ages 5 to 18 to become a positive influence in their community.
