In anticipation of free fishing day in Wyoming this Saturday, the Game and Fish has stocked catchable trout in several popular fishing holes in Sheridan County. According to Bud Stewart with the Sheridan Region Game and Fish Office, Mavrakis Pond, the Fairgrounds Pond and Ranchester City Pond were stocked with trout on Monday.

No fishing licenses or conservation stamps are required for resident and non-resident anglers to enjoy a day of fishing in all Wyoming waters, except in Yellowstone National Park and the Wind River Indian Reservation. The Wyoming Legislature authorized free fishing day in 2003 as a means to reacquaint people with fishing in the state.
